Buildcert approached us to completely redesign and redevelop their website which had grown outdated and did not fully reflect their brand, expertise, or scale. To understand business needs and goals, we conducted stakeholder interviews with the founder, state managers, client engagement team, and certifiers across both the residential and commercial teams. We also did some user behaviour analysis using GA4 and Microsoft Clarity to identify content priorities and common user pain points.

Through this analysis we discovered that their existing site was heavily text-based, lacked structure, and made it difficult for users to find relevant information given the differing regulations and service requirements across states and project types. Buildcert wanted the new website to create a clear distinction between commercial and residential sectors, improve organic visibility, and streamline the quoting process to reduce unqualified leads.

Solution

We started by restructuring the entire information architecture to create clarity, consistency, and relevance for each user type. A mega navigation subcategorised content by state, industry, service, and project type, ensuring users are guided to the most relevant pages quickly and intuitively. We also created tailored landing pages for key audience segments such as builders, architects, and homeowners, ensuring each persona receives information that matches their specific goals.

To reduce unqualified leads we included checklists, a breakdown of the steps involved in the quoting process, and multi-step forms that guide homeowners through eligibility requirements before submitting an enquiry. We introduced educational and SEO-rich resources to help Buildcert position itself as an industry leader while improving organic discoverability. Finally, we rebuilt the website on a flexible, user-friendly CMS, allowing Buildcert’s internal team to manage and update content with ease.

The results

The redesigned Buildcert website has delivered improvements across performance, usability, and lead quality. Visitors now benefit from a streamlined, intuitive navigation that reflects the structure and clarity of Buildcert’s service offering. Improved content architecture and SEO-rich educational material has caused an increase in traffic.
